Happy Birthday to my awesome, incredible, and fabulous brother!! (He turns 27 today.) We are headed to a big dinner at Longhorn's and then cake and ice cream at my sister's (the one who is almost 39 weeks pregnant) house. The kiddos and I are staying with her for a couple days while her DH flies out to speak at a conference.
Masculine cards are always hard for me--so I always take a quick browse through SCS for inspiration. Today I found this card that I just had to remake.

You might remember that my DH had a birthday last month. He had asked me to make him some thank you notes but I got a little distracted by homeschooling, Alex's birthday, my sister's baby shower, etc. so a MONTH later (forgive me Emily Post!) I finished his cards. I guess it's timely since one of the gifts he received was a pre-order that shipped today.

Apparently I didn't completely recover from my "mother of all consignment sales" I attended Monday night because I couldn't seem to get caught up on Tuesday. Each time I walked past the computer I found something else to do (surely nothing on my actual "to do" list!) and never did share my BIL's birthday card with you. Today is not any less crazy (since I decided late last night to sell at another consignment sale and quick tagged everything and dropped it off this morning) but I have two hours this afternoon to clean bathrooms, fold clothes, etc. while the boys and Ella sleep. Sigh. We had done so well with our schedule last week, too! I learned a valuable lesson this morning--either stay home and follow the schedule (which facilitates homeschooling) or run errands and pick up the schedule at the proper hour's events when you return. Instead upon our return I tried to squeeze in our homeschooling while we were supposed to be doing something else. Lunch was late...everyone was crabby (including me!)...Ella slept too long (and consequently doesn't want to sleep now)...you get the picture. ;)
Do you have any advice for me? I'd love to hear your scheduling tips!

I finally had a free minute today to make a card for my FIL's birthday (last Sunday). I am slowly getting the hang of having three kiddos and starting to reclaim "my" time. I had forgotten how therapeutic stamping was! :)

My sweet friend has a little boy that just turned one. All 5 of us went to the birthday party of the year! OMG...it was a construction theme and she totally outdid herself. I just wish that I had brought my camera so I could share pictures. She had stations set up where the kids colored on "tool belts" with fabric markers, made a vest out of felt, decorated "hard" hats, and played a game to win prizes for their tool belts (foam tools). The kids had drinks inside of orange cones and a brown paper sack full of goldfish and fruit snacks. The adult food was super yummy and she even used large construction vehicles to hold the chips, plates, and napkins. It was too cute!
